- Book the slot for the site you’re going to.
- Count the trips — a full garage is rarely one car-load.
Counting the car-loads
A car boot holds a few bags and boxes. A single-garage clear-out, a bedroom of old furniture or a garden’s worth of cuttings can be several trips — each needing its own booked slot. One lorry visit does the same job without the booking.
The recycling centres do a good job, and for a few bags a tip run is fine. Where it stops making sense is volume: furniture that won’t fit in a car, a garage full of boxes, or a garden’s worth of cuttings that would take a whole weekend of trips.
